Our old man has a new record...

Hey folks - Luke and I's dad David Mallett has a new record out and you should most definitely give it a listen. Luke and I sat in for a good part of the recording process and were lucky enough to get to contribute some guitar, banjo, vocals and a little songwriting on a couple tracks. Check it out when you get the chance, we're sure you'll dig it.

Here's the title track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpMNOCoMf_0

He's keeping up a pretty busy tour schedule, too; check out davidmallett.com for details.

Cheers dudes, catch you out there!

2016 NYE Hometown Show - Photos & Audio

There's just somethin' about those hometown shows. We're beyond grateful for all of you who came out to spend your New Year's with us at Port City Music Hall, for Chris Ross and the North and the Ghosts of Johnson City crushin' it, for Ray MacGregor taking some wonderful photos to document the night, and Bob Tousignant for capturing the audio and making it live on archive.org - the show is currently up online in its entirety for any of you hoping to relive the night!

It was a joyous but bittersweet night as it was Brian Higgins' last gig with the band; our beloved drummer and pal has moved onto more air-conditioned pastures down in Florida with his wonderful lady and their sweet pup.

However, we can't express how thrilled we are to have Adam Cogswell taking over the drum helm after the carefully orchestrated passing of the torch at Port City (chariots of fire was playing, it was good). Adam's a badass dude and a renaissance man - an artist, Eagle Scout, a skateboarder, a snowboarder, a taxidermy aficionado, a hard-hitting rocker with a trainbeat to rival the Amtrak Downeaster and we're beyond psyched to have him on board.

2015 was a great year, but we're looking towards the future and we couldn't be more psyched. Thanks again to all of you out there showing support and keeping this train a-rollin'; couldn't do it without you!

Check out some of Ray's photos and come see us again some time...

TMBB Cartooned in the Latest O'Chang Comics

Warning! Not safe for work, not safe for children, may or not be safe for grandparents and such. FOUL LANGUAGE!!!!

Wow man. If you're from Maine you might have heard of O'Chang Comics' Temp Tales series. It's funnier than hell, and fouler than the foulest sailor. The creators of the cartoon are pretty good buddies and we were flattered as all get-out when they turned us into cartoons for the last episode "Crittah Gittahz." In the new one they cartooned us and also had us talk a little bit. Truly one of our proudest moments.

Also, a more accurate representation of Maine than lighthouse postcards and lobster t-shirts, no doubt.

New Video: "There Are No Rules In This Game," Plus Lyrics

Big thanks to Keith Piesco for directing and shooting the new video for "There Are No Rules In This Game," from the latest album Lights Along the River. The video was shot around some of our favorite haunts in Portland, Maine, with stops at Susan's Fish and Chips, Bissell Brothers Brewing, Guitar Grave and more. Pretty fun.

There Are No Rules In This Game Lyrics:

There is no one that you can blame
When you're out standing in the rain
There ain't nobody who will remember your name
And there is no one that you can blame

There is nothing that you can do
It's all been tried, it's all been true
You might see red, you might see blue
There is nothin' that you can do

But there are no rules in this game
You might get some treasure
You might get some rain
There might be a reason for you to carry on some flame
But there are no rules in this game

Everything's good and everything's bad
But what would you do if this thing was the only thing that you had?
Would it make you smile? Would it make you mad?
Everything's good, everything's bad

And everything's precious and everyone's dead
That were livin' in the times of Alexander and Eric the Red
Only thing changin' are the thoughts up in your head
Everything's precious, everyone's dead

There are no rules in this game
You might get some pleasure, you might get some pain
You might find a reason for you to carry on some flame
But there are no rules in this game
